Refund policy
RETURNS, EXCHANGES & REFUNDS
At Meraki Jewellery Design, every item is carefully inspected before being dispatched. We take pride in the quality of our jewellery and strive to ensure that every order arrives in perfect condition.
REFUND POLICY
All sales are final. Meraki Jewellery Design does not offer refunds for change of mind, buyer's remorse, incorrect product selection, incorrect sizing provided by the customer, or delays caused by third-party couriers.
Refunds will only be considered where:
• An incorrect item was supplied by Meraki Jewellery Design; or
• The item received contains a verified manufacturing defect; or
• The item materially differs from the product ordered due to an error on the part of Meraki Jewellery Design.
Meraki Jewellery Design reserves the right to inspect any item before determining the appropriate remedy. Where a claim is approved, we may, at our sole discretion:
• Repair the item;
• Replace the item;
• Issue store credit; or
• Provide a refund where deemed appropriate or required by law.
NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS
The following items are strictly non-refundable and non-returnable:
• Solid gold jewellery
• Bespoke or custom-designed jewellery
• Made-to-order items
• Personalised or engraved items
• Customised items
• Items altered at the customer's request
• Earrings, for hygiene and safety reasons
• Sale, promotional, discounted, or clearance items
• Gift cards
These items cannot be cancelled, returned, exchanged, or refunded once an order has been placed and payment has been received, except where required by applicable law.
EARRINGS
For hygiene and health protection reasons, all earring sales are final. Earrings cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded unless the item received is defective or incorrect due to an error on the part of Meraki Jewellery Design.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Returns or exchanges will only be considered where:
• The incorrect item was supplied by Meraki Jewellery Design;
• The item contains a verified manufacturing defect; or
• The item materially differs from the product ordered due to an error on our part.
Any claim must be submitted in writing within 7 days of delivery and must include clear photographs of the issue.
Approved returns must:
• Be received by us within 15 days of delivery;
• Be unworn and unused;
• Be in original condition;
• Include all original packaging and documentation.
Items that do not meet these conditions may be refused and returned to the customer.
Meraki Jewellery Design reserves the right to refuse any return, exchange, repair request, or claim that does not comply with this policy.
RETURN SHIPPING
Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, insurance, duties, taxes, and associated charges.
We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured courier service. Meraki Jewellery Design is not responsible for items lost, damaged, or delayed during transit.
Original shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, and import fees are non-refundable.

ORDER CANCELLATIONS
Orders may not be cancelled once payment has been received and processing or production has commenced.
Orders for solid gold jewellery, bespoke items, custom-designed items, personalised items, engraved items, customised items, and made-to-order items cannot be cancelled under any circumstances once payment has been received.
RIGHT OF REFUSAL OF SALE
Meraki Jewellery Design reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or reverse any transaction at its sole discretion, including but not limited to cases involving pricing errors, technical errors, suspected fraud, unauthorised transactions, stock discrepancies, or website malfunctions.
Where a transaction is cancelled by Meraki Jewellery Design, any payment received will be refunded to the original payment method.
PLATED ITEMS
Complimentary replating is offered only for verified plating failures reported within 30 days of delivery.
After 30 days, replating services are available at the prevailing service rate, subject to a minimum charge of R300 per item.
